Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) India today announced the ‘Huawei AI Shopping’ feature in India. This feature is based on AI which will help users have an immersive and seamless online shopping experience as the Huawei Nova series of smartphones arrive in India. On the Huawei P20 Pro, an OTA update has already been pushed to enable this feature.
Commenting on the new features, ahead of the launch, Allen Wang, VP, Product, Huawei Consumer Business Group, India said, “Innovation is at the heart of everything we do at Huawei and India is one of our most important markets globally. With a strong R&D ecosystem globally, we are creating a lot of AI-related solutions which are available for our customers in India. With the upcoming HUAWEI Nova Series, we aim to offer enhanced AI features in Shopping, photography, image recognition and more- meaningfully impacting the lives of our customers in India.”
The Huawei Nova series of smartphones are powered by the Kirin 970 chipset with AI-based functions and capabilities. Already Huawei is using AI to fine tune the photography experience and now the company is taking its use to the next level. Huawei clearly stated that this interest in purely based on the data from ASSOCHAM-Resurgent and as per their studies 20 million Indian consumers are expected to shop online this year. With the AI assistance on the upcoming HUAWEI nova series, users can simply point the camera towards an object of their desire and then tap the Hi-Touch icon on the camera window, which will help them find the same item on Amazon India. Users can also search for on-screen objects on Amazon India while browsing or chatting with friends and family. Just with a two-finger long-press on the product image or just by scanning the object, users will be able to find the item online for fast and hassle-free shopping.
New AI advancements also make searching for photos easier and faster as users can conduct local queries using more complex definitions. The AI smart gallery can automatically identify photos of eight major themes: gatherings, sports, travels, romantic moments, and curate a collection for users to revisit these moments at any time.
The Huawei Nova smartphones have been launched in China and the company has let us know that they will make the phones available in India very soon.
