Taiwanese tech giant ASUS, the fastest-growing consumer laptop brand in India, has announced the launch of six new Chromebooks in India. The new Chromebooks are powered by Google’s Chrome OS and are built to make online learning, work, and entertainment affordable.
The new Chromebook lineup from ASUS includes the Chromebook Flip C214, Chromebook C223, Chromebook C423, and Chromebook C523. The Chromebook C423 and Chromebook C523 are available in touch and non-touch variants.
Commenting on the new Chromebook launch, Leon Yu, Regional Director, India, and South Asia, ASUS said, “At ASUS, we take lead in introducing the latest technology to our Indian Fans. The Asus Chromebook Flip C214 is the most compact touch Chromebook from the new lineup. It features an 11.6-inch HD (1,266×768 pixels) anti-glare touch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, while its 360° hinge provides flexibility to users, making it able to lay flat on a surface while users can convert it to a tablet as well. Asus Chromebook Flip C214 is powered by a dual-core Intel Celeron N4020 processor with Intel UHD Graphics 600, coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage. However, users can expand the storage up to 2TB using a microSD card. Connectivity options onboard the Asus Chromebook Flip C214 include dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0.
In contrast, there are ample ports, including a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, and a microSD card reader. The keyboard on the Asus Chromebook Flip C214 is spill-resistant, and the laptop comes with US MIL-STD 810G military-grade standard certification. The Chromebook packs a 50Whr battery, which ASUS claims to run the Chromebook straight up to 11 hours. The ASUS Chromebook Flip C214 is available in one lone dark grey color.
ASUS Chromebook C223, C423, and C523 are similar in connectivity, processor, RAM, and ports. All these three Chromebooks are powered by Intel’s Celeron N3350 processor coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM with Intel UHD Graphics 500. All of them have two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, while in terms of wireless connectivity, while of all them offer dual-band Wi-Fi, the ASUS Chromebook C423 has Bluetooth 4.2 while the others provide Bluetooth 4.0. In terms of storage, the ASUS Chromebook C223 offers 32GB eMMC storage onboard, while the ASUS Chromebook C423 and C523 offer 64GB eMMC storage.
However, all of them support memory expansion up to 2TB using a microSD card. The ASUS Chromebook C223 has an 11.6-inch HD LED display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. The Chromebook C223 doesn’t offer touch input. However, the ASUS Chromebook C423 and C523 offer 14-inch HD and 15.6-inch full HD display. The ASUS Chromebook C423 and C523 come in two variants letting users pick between the touch and non-touch variants they have. All of the three Chromebooks come with a 720p HD webcam for video conferencing. The ASUS Chromebook C223 is available in grey, while the Chromebooks C423 and C523 are available in silver color.
The new lineup of Chromebooks from ASUS starts at just ₹17,999, and the price can go up to ₹24,999, making the new ASUS Chromebooks affordable while being resourceful. The ASUS Chromebook C223 is priced at ₹17,999. The ASUS Chromebook C423 starts at ₹19,999 for the non-touch variant, while the variant with touch input is priced at ₹23,999. ASUS Chromebook C523 is priced just ₹1000 higher than that of the Chromebook C423. The non-touch variant of ASUS Chromebook C523 costs ₹20,999, while the variant with touch input is priced at ₹24,999. ASUS Chromebook Flip C214 will come with a price tag of ₹23,999. The new ASUS Chromebooks will go on sale at midnight on July 22, exclusively on Flipkart.
