Two weeks ago, there was some buzz about the partnership Micromax is having with CyanogenMod and looks like the news is clear now.
Just two weeks ago we came to know about the future plan of Micromax to partner with CyanogenMod and ship CyanogenMod running smartphones, but now it is totally clear that Micromax will do so in their upcoming Canvas 5 smartphone. By the end of this year, we expect to see Micromax smartphones running CyanogenMod. Micromax Canvas 5, The newest 5-inch Full HD smartphone from one of leading Indian vendors in India will be powered by a new Mediatek MT67xx octa-core SoC. The device will be having 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, even if the internet storage falls short, you can expand it upto 32GB via microSD.
The Canvas 5 will have a 18 MP snapper coupled with 5 MP front camera for video calling. The device will be one of the premium smartphones from Micromax and will have a aluminium casing. The phone is expected to cost around Rs. 22,000.
