The IFA 2016 has been a great source of news and exciting announcements so far, the most outstanding firms have shown their new products and Lenovo is not the exception. A few days ago, the Chinese brand announced several smartphones, but the Lenovo K6 series definitely stole the spotlight. The K6 series has 3 members: The K6, K6 Power and K6 Note, these smartphones belong to the mid-end category and share significant similarities.
Unfortunately, Lenovo has not announced the price or release date yet, but all the other important details were revealed during the IFA 2016 that is taking place in Berlin. Firstly, these 3 smartphones will feature the same SoC (system on a chip), a powerful Snapdragon 430 chipset that comes with an octa-core processor (4 x 1.2GHz Cortex-A53 plus 4 x 1.5GHz Cortex-A53) and Adreno 505 GPU. The Lenovo K6 series offers 4G LTE connectivity, fingerprint scanner, metallic build, dual-sim (nano), and they will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. However, this is where the similarities end, which lead us to the next subject.
Lenovo K6
The Lenovo k6 is the younger brother of the family, but that doesn’t mean anything negative, the K6 is actually quite powerful and it should be the most affordable of the 3. Firstly, the display is a 5,2-inch touchscreen that will be featuring a 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels resolution (FHD 1080P). Secondly, The K6 has 2GB of RAM and two options for internal storage: 16GB and 32GB. It’s packed with a 13-megapixel rear camera, while the frontal camera is 8 megapixels. Last but not least, the terminal is powered by a 3000mAh battery.
Lenovo K6 Power
This is the middle brother and features specifications slightly superior to the K6. This version lets us choose between 2GB of RAM/16GB ROM and 3GB RAM/32GB ROM. The rest of the features are the same of the K6, except for the battery, which has a considerably larger capacity, 4000mAh to be precise. The cameras are exactly the same that the K6, no changes here.
Lenovo K6 Note
And finally, we meet the older brother, and of course, superior version of the K6. The Lenovo K6 Note offers a larger screen (5.50-inch), but the resolution remains the same. It comes in two variants, 3GB or 4GB, both with 32GB of ROM that we can use for internal storage, which by the way, can be expanded up to 128GB via Micro-SD card. In this occasion, the main camera has a 16 megapixels resolution, the frontal camera is 8 megapixels and the battery has a 4000mAh capacity. It’s also worth mentioning that they’re non-removable batteries.
We don’t know yet the release date or price of these smartphones, but rumors suggest that they will be launched very soon in September.
